Cloud Solutions in Dubai

OptiFi delivers cloud migration and managed cloud services for UAE businesses on AWS and Microsoft Azure, including the UAE regions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi where data residency is a requirement. We migrate in stages with tested rollbacks, then hand over cost control rather than keeping it — a client who cannot read their own cloud bill is dependent on us for a routine task.

Data residency is a first question, not a detail

Both major providers operate infrastructure in the Emirates — AWS has a UAE region, and Microsoft Azure runs UAE North in Dubai and UAE Central in Abu Dhabi. Whether you need them is a question to settle before migration rather than after.

For many businesses the answer is that residency is preferable but not required, and a lower-cost region elsewhere is fine. For others — regulated sectors, government-adjacent contracts, or customer agreements with explicit terms — it is mandatory, and discovering that after the workload has moved means moving it twice.

Residency requirements

What your contracts and sector actually require, established in writing before anything moves.

Region selection

UAE regions where they are needed, and honest arithmetic where they are not.

Latency

Measured for users in the Emirates rather than assumed from a map.

Backup location

Where copies live, which is a separate question from where the workload runs.

Migration without the outage

The technical part of a migration is well understood. The risk sits in the sequence — what moves first, what depends on it, and what the fallback is when something behaves differently at four in the afternoon than it did in testing.

We migrate in stages with a tested rollback at each one, and we schedule around your business rather than ours. In the Emirates that usually means a weekend running Friday evening to Sunday, which is a smaller window than most international runbooks assume and needs planning for rather than discovering.

Staged sequence

What moves first and what depends on it, agreed before anything moves rather than discovered mid-migration.

Tested rollback

A fallback proven at each stage, because the time to find out it does not work is not four in the afternoon.

The UAE weekend

Scheduled Friday evening to Sunday, which is shorter than most international runbooks assume and needs planning for.

Parallel running

Old and new alongside each other for a period, so a difference in behaviour is noticed rather than suffered.

The bill after month three

Cloud costs rarely surprise anyone in the first month. They surprise people in the fourth, when the test environment nobody switched off, the oversized instances chosen defensively, and the storage snapshots accumulating quietly have all been running a while.

Cost control is a habit rather than a project: right-sizing after real usage data exists, committed-use discounts where the workload is genuinely steady, lifecycle rules on storage, and someone reviewing the bill monthly with the authority to turn things off.

We hand this over. A client who cannot read their own cloud bill is dependent on us for a routine task, and that is not a relationship either side should want.

Right-sizing

Based on measured usage after a few weeks, not on the guess made during migration.

Commitments

Reserved or savings-plan pricing only where the workload is genuinely steady.

Storage lifecycle

Rules that move or delete old data automatically rather than by remembering.

Monthly review

A named owner reading the bill, with authority to act on it.

Backup, and the restore nobody has tested

Cloud providers guarantee their infrastructure, not your data. Deleted files, ransomware and a mistaken bulk update are all your responsibility, and a provider's durability figure protects against none of them.

We configure backups with retention that matches your record-keeping obligations, and then we restore from them. A backup that has never been restored is an assumption, and the moment you discover which one it was is the worst possible moment.

How we deliver

  1. 01

    Discover

We map your current setup, constraints and priorities before proposing anything.

  2. 02

A written design with fixed deliverables, so scope is agreed before work starts.

  3. 03

    Implement

Phased rollout with rollback points — production is never left in an unknown state.

  4. 04

    Support

A named engineer, agreed response times and a handover your team can actually run.

Common questions

Both AWS and Azure operate UAE infrastructure — Azure runs regions in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Whether you need them is a contractual and sector question rather than a technical preference, and it should be settled before migration: discovering the requirement afterwards means moving the workload twice.
