Dubai's Security Industry Regulatory Agency sets requirements for security systems across many categories of premises, covering the technical specification, the installer, and how footage is stored and retained. Other emirates operate their own arrangements through their local authorities.
The practical effect is that a system priced purely on cameras and a recorder may not be an approvable system. Requirements differ by premises type — a warehouse, a school and a jewellery retailer are not treated alike — and they change. We establish what applies to your premises category before quoting, and we say plainly when a requirement needs confirming with the authority rather than asserting it from memory.

Storage is the cost everyone underestimates
Cameras are the visible cost and rarely the largest one. Retention drives storage, and storage scales with camera count, resolution, frame rate and how many hours a day there is motion to record.
A sixteen-camera system at a resolution worth having, retained for the period the regulator expects, needs considerably more capacity than the recorder bundled into most quotations. Quotes that look cheap usually achieved it here — lower resolution, fewer frames, or a retention period that does not meet the requirement.
We size storage against the retention you actually need and show the arithmetic, so a competing quote can be compared on the same basis rather than on the headline.
Placement beats specification
A well-placed ordinary camera is worth more than an excellent one pointed at the wrong thing. The recurring failures are predictable: a camera facing a glass entrance at midday that records a silhouette, a car park covered at an angle where number plates are unreadable, and a till area framed so the transaction is visible but the face is not.
UAE conditions add their own considerations. Direct sun, heat inside unshaded housings, and dust on external lenses all affect what a camera delivers in month twelve compared with day one.
We survey and mark positions against what you want to be able to prove, then explain what each camera will and will not show. That conversation is more useful than a specification sheet.

After installation
Systems fail quietly. A camera goes offline, a disk fills, a recorder stops writing — and nobody discovers it until footage is needed and does not exist, which is the one moment it cannot be fixed.
We include monitored health checks so a failure raises an alert rather than waiting to be found, and we hand over the credentials and documentation. Remote viewing is configured properly, because a recorder exposed to the internet with a default password is a genuine risk rather than a convenience.
